(Basella alba)
This leafy variety is a fast growing vine. Two varieties come. The one with the Red stem and the one with the Green stem. They are pretty, almost ornamental plants. This plant has broad leaves and its flavor is similar to that of spinach. It does best in cool or shady weather. It is best collected by cutting branches.
