(Basella alba)
This variety of spinach is a vine that grows very quickly. Two varieties come. The one with the Red stem and the one with the Green stem. They are pretty, almost ornamental plants. It is not really a spinach, but it is eaten like one, since it has the same nutrients. It does best in cool or shady weather. It is best collected by cutting branches.
