It is a native variety of Puerto Rico "heirloom Boricua" and its fruit has a peculiar shape since it seems that it is divided into small segments. The fruits are large, juicy and with an exquisite flavor. The ripe fruit is soft and fragile. The plant needs support from some structure during its growth since it is an indeterminate variety. It is better to pick the fruit when it begins to ripen and complete its maturation protected from birds.
